Tonight's dinner was frugal & fabulous! So yummy! And, I am SO FULL!
Most of what I prepared was bought on our recent trip to Save A Lot. Remember this?
Soup ingredients:
2 lbs of chicken leg quarters (boiled & deboned) $0.78
1/2 bag of fresh mini carrots $0.60
1/2 bag of frozen corn $0.60
1/2 bag of frozen cut green beans $0.60
1/3 bag of frozen bell peppers & onions $0.40
1 small bag of pinwheel pasta $0.44
Salt, black pepper, & Italian seasoning
TOTAL COST FOR SOUP (2 meals): $3.42 TONIGHT'S COST FOR SOUP: $1.71
For bread, I toasted (in the oven) two plain bagels cut in half with butter & garlic powder! Good stuff! Tasted just like garlic bread!
TOTAL COST FOR 2 BAGELS: $.56
And, then......there's dessert! Lime Jello! Yesterday, I used a Walgreen's in-store coupon & bought (5) Royal boxed jellos for $1.00. ($0.20 each)
TOTAL COST FOR DESSERT: $0.20
Jello is still waiting to be eaten. We are so stuffed! It will be our snack while watching evening TV.
TOTAL COST FOR OUR MEAL TONIGHT: $2.47!!!!!
Frugal, nutritious, delicious, and VERY filling!
