Our Yard Sale Score!!

One of the things hubby and I enjoy on weekends is scouring yard sales!  We get such a thrill when we find a really sweet deal.  Here where we live, yard sales abound!  So, there's an excellent opportunity that almost every weekend we will score!

A couple of weekends ago, we stopped at a yard sale late in the afternoon.  Usually, the best deals are well picked over by then.  However, this particular day, we hit the sale just right.  Apparently, they had brought more items out later in the day.  While rummaging around picking through boxes, I came upon a box FULL of DVDs.  She was asking $2 each or 3/$5.  I was so excited.  Most of the DVDs were "chick flicks" which are favorites with my 22-year old daughter.  There were some very popular titles, but I suspected my daughter already had many of them.  Luckily, I was able to get her on the phone.  Together, all 3 of us went through the box title by title.  We ended up picking out 16 DVDs which we did not already have.  I asked the homeowner if I could have all 16 DVDs for $20.  WE SCORED!!!

I have to mention, I hardly ever buy DVDs/movies, because we always have a code either for Redbox or Blockbuster to rent FREE movies.  However, these are movies that my daughter will watch a million times overSo, they were well worth the price.

Here's our newest collection of DVDs.  We just finished watching "Serendipity".  If you are a hopeless romantic, this movie is for you!!  Oh, and I thought "The Bachelor" was really cute, too! :o)

All About InboxDollars.....

I have been a member of InboxDollars for approximately 5 years.  It is an easy, painless way to earn a few extra dollars without having to purchase anything.  You can slowly acquire your savings by using their search toolbar, reading emails, viewing videos, and printing and redeeming coupons (the same ones that you print off of Coupons.com).  I rarely buy anything.  So, most of my $$$$ is accumulated through the activities listed above.

This is a great way to accumulate a little savings towards Christmas, birthday gifts, etc.  And, remember, you can do this without ever buying anything.   Just check your emails daily, so that you can take advantage of all the free stuff.

Below, I have "captured" the benefits of being an InboxDollars member.  I encourage you to join!  There's really nothing to lose.  Also, once you have joined, send an invite for membership to your friends and family.  You earn a small percentage off of their earnings, too!

Best wishes for lots of InboxDollars earnings!

~Rhonda

INBOX DOLLARS

When you sign up for Inbox Dollars, you will receive an instant $5.00 credit.

This site provides you with daily emails to read.  All that is required is for you to click on them & read them.  Most emails pay $.02.

If you download their search toolbar & use it daily, you will receive $.01 for each search up to 5 searches per day.  Each week you will receive credit for the searches done the previous week.

Occasionally, they will send surveys to your email.  If you choose to complete them, you will be paid for them.  The amount paid varies per survey depending on the length & time it takes to complete it.  Some surveys pay $1.00.

FOR COUPONERS, this is the best benefit yet!!  The coupons that you normally download from Coupons.com are also available via Inbox Dollars.  ALWAYS download here first until you have exhausted all coupons.  FOR EVERY COUPON YOU REDEEM, YOU WILL RECEIVE $0.10.  I love it!  How easy is that?? If you use as many coupons as I do, it will not take you long to pile up the savings in addition to the savings you receive from the value of the coupon!!

Inbox Dollars now has a new feature....videos for cash.  Visit their home page every day.  Click on Videos For Cash, answer a few questions, and watch a few videos they choose based on the answers to your questions.  The videos are short, quick ads, and you receive anywhere from $0.02 to $0.04 for each one after watching them in their entirety. Two numbers will flash on the screen as you view the video.  You will be asked to type these two numbers in a box at the completion of the video.

Aside from these benefits, which I find the simplest to complete, you may also choose to shop & play games to acquire more earnings!

Inbox Dollars issues checks by mail everytime you acquire $30.00 in credit.  I have enjoyed many of these checks.  I can attest to the validity of this program.  Once you accumulate $30.00 in your account, request that a check be sent to you via mail.  They promptly prepare & mail the check to you.  You can then cash or deposit the check to your account, and spend it in any way you choose! If you want to avoid the small fee for cashing out at $30.00, wait until you accumulate $40.00.  Anything $40.00 and up will be received in its entirety.

Today, my hubby & I took a little trip to Save Alot.  This is a place we like to go to purchase items we normally do not have coupons to redeem OR to browse around looking for great bargains on non-brand food products.

As much as I love coupons, sometimes it's nice to leave home without them!  Here's what we scored today without one coupon in hand!

We spent a total of $32.48!  Our purchase included:

Couponing A Thing Of The Past? Are You Kidding Me??

Looking at all my Internet coupons tonight scattered all over the living room floor, I had to stop and wonder what "they" mean by "one day coupons will be a thing of the past."  Are they serious?  Do they even have a clue? I mean, look at this.....it's just the coupons I have printed off the internet over the past 5 days.  There's more coupons now than ever!  Aside from the manufacturer websites spitting out 100s of thousands of coupons, now they are turning to Facebook, and spitting out more.  Then you have your coupon sites such as Coupons.com & SmartSource (and there's many more) which amazingly reset & add coupons almost on a daily basis.  I never go a day without printing off internet couponsTHEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!

Notice my little helper!  She sits so proud among the coupons!

You have to wonder what she is thinking?!  She looks as though she is on guard duty, hoping that some of those coupons are for her!  She knows that if her treats are not on sale....and if there's not a coupon in this pile....she goes without.  Poor kitty!  But, as all couponers know, there's always something on sale! And as my kitty knows all too well, there's treats always stocked in the pantry!!

So, after about an hour or 2 of sorting, it finally came down to this nice stack!  Aaahh....so much better.  All ready to be filed away in hopes of many great sales coming up soon!

My CVS Shopping Trip 04/04/11

It has been a long while since I have shopped at CVS.  It's not because they don't have great deals. They do! I just find sometimes that it is easier to stick to a few stores. And, most of you know, my store of choice is WAGS.

However, after I was alerted to the Duracell battery deal being offered this week, I had to make a trip!  You won't see battery deals like this very often, and we were in need of AAs for sure.

To show how little I shopped at CVS this last quarter, my EasyCare bucks for the Winter quarter totaled a massive $1.00!

Okay, so it's time to get back into the CVS game!  They do have a lot of ways to earn ECBs, and I do love to shop there.  The fact that I have approximately 10 CVS stores within a few miles of me makes the game even easier.  There's always a few stores that are well-stocked in the event that one is not.

For those of you who are are fairly new to couponing, you will love shopping at CVS & WAGS (Walgreens).  Most of the time, you should be able to save at least 75%.  And many times, your savings should be closer to 80 to 90%.  Yes, it's true!  The drugstores have great sales along with incentive programs & rewards to get you to shop with them. When you add in Manufacturer coupons & in-store coupons, it's a couponers' haven!

So, keep in mind, that my trip today only included the $1.00 EasyCare Buck (ECB).  My savings will not be near as much as they will be once I start accumulating ECBs.

I purchased:

(3) packs of Duracell batteries 20ct  $9.99 each (Reg Price $14.49ea)
(1) Dawn  $0.99  (Reg Price $1.69)
(1) Gold Bond Ultimate Body Wash $5.88 (Reg Price $$6.89)
(2) Snack Pack puddings $0.99 each  (Reg Price $1.67ea)
(1) Teddy Bear cookies $1.00 (Found in $1.00 section)
(1) Box 100ct green tea bags $1.00 (Found in $1.00 section)

Coupons Used:
(3) $1.50 Off ANY ONE Duracell Copper Top 6pk or larger (P&G 04/03)
(1) $0.25 Off One Dawn (P&G 04/03)
(1) $2.00 Off Gold Bond Ultimate Body Wash (P&G 04/03)
(1) $5.00 Off $40.00 Purchase at CVS
(1) $1.00 ECB earned for Winter Quarter shopping

Total Bill at regular price: $57.39 - 16.55 (Sales) - 12.75 (coupons)= $28.09 OOP (Cash)
I SAVED 51% THIS TRIP! (Remember, you ALWAYS want to save at least 50%!)

But here's the BONUS:

I received the following EasyCare Bucks: (The ECBs will not be included in my savings until I actually use them.)

(1) $10.00 ECB for purchasing $30 in P&G products
(1) $3.00 ECB for purchasing (1) Gold Bond Ultimate Body Wash

AND

(2) Packs of Duracell batteries included $20 in coupons for P&G products!  That's $40 worth of coupons to use with a great sale!

Coupons Included:
$1.00 Off ANY ONE Bounce Dryer Bar
$1.00 Off ANY (2) Cascade Products
$1.00 Off ANY ONE Charmin Product
$1.00 Off ANY ONE 6pk Duracell Copper Top Batteries
$1.00 Off ANY (2) Old Spice anti-perspirant, deodorant, or body wash
$2.00 Off ANY (2) Old Spice Red Zone Odor Blocker, or Dry-Skin Defense body wash
BUY (1) Old Spice Fresh Collection Invisible Solid or Body Spray, GET ONE FREE Fresh       Collection Body Spray
$1.00 Off ANY ONE Oral-B Pulsar, CrossAction, OR Advantage, OR ANY (2) Indicator or          Cavity Defense toothbrush
$1.00 Off ANY ONE Pantene Styling product
$2.00 Off ANY ONE Prilosec OTC
$1.00 Off ANY (2) Snack Stacks or Pringles Stix
$4.00 Off ANY ONE Sinex product

So, all in all, even though I only saved 51% initially, look at all the bonuses to be used in the future!  NOT a bad shopping trip!  I really needed the batteries!
